A member of the McCreath family, David has spent more than 35 years working for the family business and is Group Fleet Manager across both the malting and merchanting divisions of Simpsons Malt Ltd.
With around 30 wagons based out of the company's Tweed Valley Maltings headquarters, David manages a growing team of HGV drivers who pride themselves on the efficient collection of cereal crops from farm at harvest and delivery of high-quality malt to end user customers.
In January 2021, David oversaw the switch to sustainable HVO fuel throughout the haulage fleet. This reduced net CO2 emissions from each wagon by up to 90% - an important milestone in the company's objective to become net zero by 2030.
David holds a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Transport Operations Management, while Simpsons Malt Ltd are members of the Freight Transport Association (FTA) and Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops (TASCC).
All of the company's vehicles are tracked and all of the above, combined with a good investment structure and vehicle replacement programme, further enhances the transport department's professionalism and dedication.
