Sarah Lugget

Junior Grain Trader

About Sarah

Sarah graduated from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh in the summer of 2017 and joined McCreath Simpson & Prentice in 2019 as a member of the Grain Department.

Initially, Sarah’s role focused on the trading of wheat, oil seed rape, barley and other commodities. However, more recently, there has been a greater focus on malting barley and Sarah has been heavily involved with the introduction of Grower Groups for some of the company’s distilling customers through malting division Simpsons Malt.

Sarah is also a member of the Maltsters’ Association of Great Britain (MAGB) Trade Committee, enabling for a more in depth understanding of the supply chain and opportunities and challenges the industry faces. It’s key to remain aware of global and domestic issues – both political and environmental – as these have a significant impact on the market.

Sarah enjoys working for a company where everyone works as a collective and supply chain relationships are transparent and of priority.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys attending the gym and getting out into the countryside for walks.
